The dangerous stage of dengue fever in children

fever is breaking out strongly in the area, the number of new cases has not
shown any signs of cooling down. Along with disease prevention and control,
adults need to pay attention to the telltale signs, thereby promptly taking
patients to medical facilities for timely intervention.
Within the past 3
months, the whole province has recorded more than 5000 cases of dengue fever.
This number will continue to increase if each of us does not actively raise the
awareness of protecting the health of ourselves and our loved ones as so far
there is no vaccine and specific treatment.
Since the beginning
of the year, the Department of Pediatrics - the Provincial General Hospital has
received and treated 1,242 cases of dengue fever and about 150 cases in the
first 2 weeks of October. The number of dengue fever cases in children at the
Pediatrics Department has been increasing since July, peaking with nearly 30
new admissions per day. However, a positive sign is that the number of
admissions with signs of severe progression tends to decrease slightly in
recent days.
Currently, Binh Thuan
Department of Health has stratified the reception and treatment of dengue fever
throughout the health system; strengthen consultation between all levels;
strengthen connection and exchange of information with higher levels, and treat
according to the right regimen. However, there is currently no vaccine nor
specific medicine for dengue fever. The main and most effective preventive
measure is to kill mosquitoes, larvae and to prevent mosquito bites - measures
that each individual can take in his or her family./.
