Ham Thuan Nam district proposes many solutions to respond to various types of natural disasters

According to Ham Thuan Nam District People's Committee, many types of natural
disasters have occurred in the district in recent years, directly affecting
people's lives, such as storms and tropical depressions; flood, inundation;
drought; tornadoes and landslides on the coast and river banks. These types of
natural disasters annually cause heavy loss of life - economy, agricultural
production and damage to infrastructure. In addition, there are other types of
natural disasters that also occur, causing relatively large damage to people
such as thunderstorms, strong winds at sea, lightning, high tides, etc.
In order to
proactively prevent, respond to and overcome consequences of natural disasters
for minimizing damage to people and property of the State and the people, and
to ensure the safety of works and the ecological environment, contributing to
the successful implementation of socio-economic development of Ham Thuan Nam
district, the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district has proposed
measures to prevent and control natural disasters, search and rescue. In which,
focusing on solutions to strengthen propaganda and education to raise public
awareness in the fields of disaster prevention, response and remediation; well
organize and promote the motto "four on the spot" to raise awareness,
understanding and self-prevention capacity of each people in the community.
