The province's livestock industry shifting from small-scale to farm breeding

(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2022, our province's livestock industry continues to have a positive shift from small-scale and household livestock production to industrial and semi-industrial forms of farms and ranches with disease and environmental safety control.

Up to now, the province has 159 concentrated livestock and poultry breeding establishments, of which 63 establishments are following the model of large-scale farms, applying high technology to ensure biosecurity and disease safety. It is estimated that by the end of 2022, the province's cow herd will have 176,100 heads, an increase of 1.6% over the same period; pig herd has 345,100 heads, increases by 7.2% over the same period in 2021; poultry flock develops well with 6,290 thousand heads, increases by 29.4% over the same period last year. Total production of live meat of all kinds in 2022 is estimated at 83,630 tons, reaching 113.8% of the plan and increases by 12.9% over the same period in 2021.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to orient the development of the livestock industry in the direction of restructuring the livestock herd to increase the proportion of farmed species that have economic value, easy to consume, and stable market as beef, poultry, etc... Continuing to encourage the development of farms and ranches in the direction of industry and semi-industry with control of disease and environmental safety, striving for an output of 75,000 tons of live meat of all kinds. Continuing to attract large projects in livestock investment in the province, contributing to socio-economic development, affirming the province's advantages in livestock development.
