Strengthening the inspection and control of pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables

As directed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the
Sub-department of Cultivation and Plant Protection shall chair over and
coordinate with the Sub-Department of Quality Management of Agro-Forestry and
Fisheries, and the Center for Agricultural Extension to strengthen the
inspection and control of pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables.
In which, focusing on
training and guiding people on the safe production of vegetables and fruits;
warning that pesticides should not be used on vegetables; announcing the list
of pesticides recommend for vegetables and fruits to farmers.
Promoting information
and communication to raise people's awareness about safe fruit and vegetable
production and consumption and the harmful effects of abusing pesticides.
At the same time,
strengthening the state management, closely inspecting and controlling and
strictly handling cases of violations on trade and use of plant protection
drugs; strengthening the supervision of vegetable and fruit quality, focusing
on high-risk vegetable, fruit and vegetable growing areas.
