According to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for
Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue, the combined influence
of high tide, sea level rise with large waves hitting the shore continuously at
dawn on October 21, 2022 broke and fell about 30m at the top of the embankment
at Doi Duong area in the area of Doi Duong - Thuong Chanh beach, Hung Long
ward, Phan Thiet city. The estimated damage is about 450 million VND.
Immediately after the
incident, the Management Board of Doi Duong - Tien Thanh Tourist Area informed
the local functional departments and put up warning signs for people to ensure
safety.
Currently, the
People's Committee of Phan Thiet city has directed the Management Board of Doi
Duong - Tien Thanh Tourist Area to temporarily clean up the broken concrete of
the embankment, creating ventilation for pedestrians to go and swim; at the
same time, re-check the entire embankment route, synthesize and report to the
People's Committee of Phan Thiet city for the remedial plan.
