Tanh Linh performed well in restructuring the agricultural sector

Tanh Linh is a mountainous district with more than 80% of the population living
mainly on agricultural production. Therefore, leaders of the District People's
Committee have coordinated with agencies and units to support farmers to focus
on agricultural production and get rich legitimately.
From 2007, the
District People's Committee has focused on restructuring the agricultural
sector in the fields of cultivation, husbandry, fisheries, irrigation
associated with new rural development. Tanh Linh district also identified key
crops as rice, corn, cashew, rubber; the main livestock are buffaloes, cows,
poultry and freshwater aquatic products to enhance the value of specific local
products.
In order to implement
the restructuring of the agricultural sector, in the past time, the District
People's Committee has coordinated with the departments, agencies, mass
organizations and localities to organize training on transfer of science and
technology and vocational training for farmers; the district socio-political
organizations have signed coordination program with the Bank for Agriculture
and Rural Development to establish joint venture groups to support household
farmers in production and business, in which priority has been given to
households to borrow loans to restore production, purchase machinery and
equipment for agricultural production.
With efforts in
restructuring the agricultural sector, the rural face of Tanh Linh district has
prospered, some residential areas have been shaped towards urbanism, and the
infrastructure has been improved. Up to now, 100% of inter-district,
inter-commune and commune roads, more than 70% of village roads, more than 78%
of alleys and hamlets and more than 70% of intra-field roads have been hardened
with asphalt, the average income according to per capita in rural areas is 42
million VND/person/year; rural environmental sanitation is ensured; political
security and social order are maintained and stabilized.
