Da Mi durian is granted the planting area code for export to the Chinese market

Da Mi is a mountainous commune of Ham Thuan Bac district, established in 2002
with a total natural area of 14,537 ha, population mainly is the immigrant from
many provinces and cities throughout the country. The commune has National
Highway 55 passing through which is convenient for economic development.
Up to now, the whole
commune of Da Mi has about 850 ha of durian and 1,500 ha of other fruit trees
such as jackfruit, avocado, mangos teen, banana; surface water from rivers and
streams, groundwater, and water from hydroelectric power plants can ensure the
production and daily life of people. Accordingly, the production of safe fruit
has now been actively responded by many gardeners and businesses to serve the
export demand through official channels. To do this model, farmers have
cooperated with each other and jointly developed, thereby easily managing the
production process of clean and safe fruits, without residues of pesticides and
meeting the needs of domestic and foreign markets. The cooperation with
businesses from input to output have helped farmers reduce production costs,
increase the selling price of agricultural products, and earn higher profits on
the same farming area, so many household farmers have risen to get rich
legitimately.
In order to build
brands for Da Mi fruits, in the coming time, Da Mi Agricultural Production and
Service Cooperative will continue to require its members to strictly follow the
production process to ensure the prestige of the products; registering products
for OCOP at district and provincial levels; continuing to build QR codes,
logos, and traceability stamps. Promoting the chain of production and
consumption linkages, building brands for Da Mi fruit products to meet market
demand, creating jobs for local workers, improving product quality, expanding
production scale; continuing to open more sectors to develop Da Mi Agricultural
Production and Service Cooperative more success.
