Training Conference on building a smoke-free environment

(binhthuan.gov.vn) The
Provincial Center for Disease Control held a training session on "Building
a smoke-free environment" according to the Law on Tobacco Harm Prevention 2022.
Attending the conference, there were about 70 representatives from departments,
agencies and vocational colleges in the province.
At the training
course, the participants were informed about the basic contents of the Law on
Tobacco Harm Prevention; necessary knowledge in the prevention and control of
tobacco harms such as: Overview of tobacco use; types of tobacco and the
harmful effects of e-cigarettes, heated cigarettes; the increasing risk of
COVID-19 by smoking, diseases commonly acquired by smoking and by breathing
secondhand smoke. At the same time, the delegates were also guided on the
implementation of building smoke-free workplaces.
Through the training
course, the participants were equipped with new knowledge, updated with the
latest information on the harmful effects of tobacco, and grasped the main
contents of the Law on Tobacco Harm Prevention. Thereby, it will contribute to
promote propaganda and build up an effective smoke-free environment at
workplaces, schools and public places in the coming time./.
