On directing the implementation of Directive No. 31 of the Standing Committee
of the City Party Committee (term XI) on the implementation of the campaign
"Phan Thiet people not discharge garbage and waste on the streets and
public areas", in the past 9 months, Phan Thiet City People's Committee
has directed specialized agencies and People's Committees of communes and wards
to coordinate in handling waste backlog areas, especially the area adjacent to
Phu Hai - Thanh Hai - Phu Thuy, and the coastal areas. At the same time,
strengthening inspection and handling of illegal mining, transportation of
minerals and common building materials, and inspecting waste discharges that
pollute the environment.
Accordingly, since
the beginning of the year, the whole city has planted nearly 2,800 trees of all
kinds, notably: the City People's Committee has coordinated with the Department
of Agriculture and Rural Development and Nova Group to plant trees in the
respondent to World Environment Day June 05 along Ba Trieu and Pham Van Dong,
Kim Dong, Nguyen Gia Tu, Lac Long Quan, Au Co streets. The localities also
organized activities to promote environmental sanitation, plant trees in the
premises of the headquarters and main roads in the areas such as: Xuan An ward
planted 34 yellow tabebuia; Thanh Hai ward planted 50 ruellia simplex; Thien
Nghiep commune planted 100 trees of burma padauk, nacre, gurjan balsam; Ham Tien
ward planted 125 cassia fistula trees; Hung Long ward coordinated with the
Provincial Youth Union to plant 500 casuarina trees, 300 poplar trees, and 5 burma
padauk trees; Phong Nam commune planted 40 Osaka trees and crape myrtle
trees...
