Industrial activity shows positive recovery in 9 months of 2022

situation of industrial activities in the first 9 months of 2022 is showing a
positive recovery, but businesses still face certain difficulties after
Covid-19 epidemic, especially with the growth shifts from the electricity generation
and distribution industry to the manufacturing industry.
According to the
Department of Statistics, the industrial production index in September is
estimated to increase by 22.61% over the same period last year, of which: The
mining industry increases by 29.78%; the manufacturing and processing industry
increases by 20.08%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot
water, steam and air-conditioners operate stably and increases by 23.69%; water
supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increases by 8.43%.
In the first 9 months
of 2022, the industrial production index increases by 2.27% over the same
period. In which, the mining industry, and the processing and manufacturing
industry increase significantly (the mining industry increases by 27.1%, the
processing and manufacturing industry increases by 15.83%); production and
distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning
decreases by 1.99%; water supply industry, management and treatment of waste
and wastewater increases by 4.99%. The IIP index (monthly, quarterly and yearly
indicator for assessing industrial production growth) increases sharply in the
mining industry due to the continued speeding up progress of construction of
the North-South expressway to the east, the section Phan Thiet - Dau Giay
scheduled to be completed in December 2022; In the processing and manufacturing
industry, as affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, some enterprises limited
production or even stopped operation.
