Phan Thiet City
In 1693, the troops of the Nguyen Lord, led by Chief Nguyen Huu Canh, passed
on and then stayed in this area. Together with them, people from other areas
came to settle there. Over the past more than 300 years, Phan Thiet has
developed and become a populous town. In the years of national renovation,
the local Party, authorities and people have strived their utmost to build
their town. In 1999, the Government decided to upgraded the town to a City.
